Joe is a Principal at GNG with more than 15 years of public accounting experience. His expertise includes advising and planning for a wide variety of business and individual tax clients, responding to Federal and State inquiries, as well as specializing in pass-through entity taxation for businesses. Additionally, Joe works extensively with QuickBooks and a variety of other accounting programs.
Joe’s involvement with pass-through entities ranges from inception with detailed knowledge of what is required to start a business, to setting up and maintaining proper books, succession planning and eventual dissolution. He works with clients ensuring that compliance with every necessary Federal and State agency has been met.
Additionally, Joe often handles large and complex compliance areas that include Research and Development Tax Credits, multi-state, foreign earned income exclusion, controlled foreign corporations, and reporting of foreign bank and financial accounts. With every type of business, large or small, Joe works to develop strategies and tax plans that fit the needs and focuses for that specific client’s present and future needs for growth, cash flow, tax savings, and retirement.
Joe’s extensive work with accounting software, such as QuickBooks, has provided him with significant exposure to the basic needs of businesses. He has worked with many business owners and their staff to set up accounting systems, as well as working with them to correct and maintain proper accounting records. Joe believes that making informed decisions based on clean accounting records leads to more accurate planning for the future.
Joe earned his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at Northern Illinois University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the Illinois CPA Society.
When Joe is not working, you will find him coaching little league, playing golf and spending time with his wife Yolanda and their children, Calvin, Maggie, Luke, Ella, Sonny, and Tess.
